Obama spits on those defending America

February 12th, 2012 by admin

What a guy.  It’s not enough to spit on the First Amendment.  It’s not enough to kill law enforcement officers as a political trick to attack the Second Amendment.  Now he has decided to attack those who are in combat zones defending America.

What a disaster.!

This is a particularly bad decision since most of the casualties in war nowadays are not due to enemy fire.  A combat zone is an inherently dangerous place to be.  Over 70% of helicopter  deaths are due to accidents, not enemy fire, because helicopter pilots fly fast, close to the ground , and at night.   According to Obama, being on the flight line on a combat aircraft carrier — a place with a higher casualty rate than an FOB — doesn’t count.

It just goes to show what Obama’s unique combination of  fanaticism, hubris, narcissism, and ignorance can bring us.

As Congressman Wilson would say, “You lie!”

Get your facts straight. A visit to Snopes or the text of the 2012 national defense authorization act would clear things up before you post such partisan hackery.

Well, no Eric, you lie. The bill, Military.com, and even snopes note the change makes combat pay more restrictive.

The difference is this. A large number of people who are on “tiger teams” move in and out of combat areas depending on their assignment. For instance, when I was in the 520th TAML, small groups from my unit would deploy for short periods to do recon and analysis for particular kinds of threat in theater. In essence, people in the TAML were “canary” units who went in when there was threat of biological, chemical, etc. agents. Our nominal job was to assess threat, but the bottom line is that they would send us in and see if we died. Usually it didn’t take a month to see if someone died, and people would come back sooner.

Under the old rule, if the unit deployed, they got combat pay for that month. Now they don’t. They only get $7.50 per day for the actual days they are sniffing the air. Unless they get fired on or manage to swallow some mustard gas, then Obama will grugdingly give them the full month’s worth. What a guy.

That distinction isn’t important to you, but it is important to the people getting sent in harm’s way.

Perhaps you should take your complaints to Buck McKeon, Chairman of the Armed Services Committee, who is thrilled with his work product.
