Atheistic patterns continue

November 18th, 2005 by admin

In reference to my previous discussion of the necessary intolerance inherent in atheistic society, this note of the abject fear that Chinese communists have of God and the violent reaction they have to it was demonstrationed in Drudge today. The only difference between the murderers in China and the petty antichristians who are trying to use the courts to eradicate religious expression in the US today is the degree of power they wield.

The only difference … is the degree of power they wield.

That’s a stretch. The Chinese are preventing the consolidation of any sort of power not under their control. The petty atheists on the other hand are trying to undo the religionization (how’s that for a made-up word) of this country that is an artifact of Victorian sentimentalism and Cold War fear but is not inherent in its structure. I grant that some of them are activists who have overreacted to traditional public displays etc. and have irrational fears of some kind of religion-based suppression. But I don’t buy that they are trying to atheize (another new word) the country in order to gain more control.

    Hip,

No, Hip. The petty antichristians are attacking religious expression wherever they see it, whether it is attempting to stop people from putting religious messages on their front yards, confiscating Bibles as “hate speech,” arresting preacher for “hate speech,” banning the *colors* red and green from schools, banning the wearing of a Santa suit at a constume party, telling students they cannot pray *by themselves* on school property, etc.

Your denial is characteristic. It’s funny, if a white person were to go to a black person and say, hey, all that racist stuff is bullshit — I’m not racist, so there must not be any racism, you would think that person is silly. Yet atheists run around telling Christians that the persecution they suffer simply isn’t happening because they choose not to see it.

The classic example recently was Paula’s blog post on “The War Against Christmas.” Her statement was that it must be bullshit because she sees a lot of Christmas stuff. She, of course, didn’t actually bother to *read* the book, and she has no idea whether or not any of the things in it are true. She doesn’t care whether or not they are true or not, in fact, because her denial overcomes any actual evidence.

Of course, you have not been threatened with being fired for wearing a tie tack with a cross on it. So it must not happen. I have. Not for preaching, not for proselytizing. For wearing a cross on my lapel.

These atheists are not merely trying to “undo” the “religionization” of the Founding Fathers. They are trying to equate religious expression with pornography.
