So much for Boston Legal

November 2nd, 2005 by

.

For the past few weeks, I’d been enjoying Boston Legal. It was quirky and fun. Unfortunately, the writers have decided to give up entertainment and instead concentrate on promulgating blatant lies in support of the Democratic party. A week or so ago, we were treated to a list of blatant falsehoods about gun control, including the Democrat lie that the so-called “assault weapon ban” had something to do with automatic weapons. This last week was spent entirely on spreading lies about the Iraq war and the military. The old liberal lie of “we hate the war but love the troops” is starting to wear thin even to the propagandists. Now it’s “we hate the war and we hate the military and we hate those people who are, you know, *really into* being soldiers, but we love the troops — at least those who don’t want to be troops and hate the military like we do.” The bottom line is that, of course, David Kelly is welcome to use his shows as his personal political mouthpiece. And I am free to turn him off.

And I have.

The sad thing, of course, is that the media has promoted these lies as if they were the truth, so that when prime time entertainment becomes an Democratic infomercial, there is no counter within the MSM. It’s not particularly surprising that an entertainment program promulgates untruth; what’s unfortunate is that they can get away with it because the so-called news programs promulgate the same untruths. The corporate culture is the same for both.

And, of course, the basic liberal philosophy is that *anything* is acceptable for the cause. I had been a bit concerned about the Bush Administration and the prospects of the Republicans in the upcoming elections. With the MSM squashing news of the successes in Iraq and celebrating the Democrats cries for surrender, with the natural disasters, etc., I thought things were looking down. But then I got to see the Dems acting out in the Senate yesterday, and I got to watch the Dems abandon all integrity regarding race, just like they did with respect to feminism during the Clinton years — I just loved seeing NOW use the “bitch was asking for it” defense — and I knew that the Dems were so far along the line of intellectual and moral bankruptcy that they will not be able to capitalize. The Dems are like the Whigs at the end of its line. The best it can hope for is that it will dissolve and something reasonable will arise from the ashes. As long as the Dems have lost their moral and intellectual compass, and as long as the only message is “whatever Bush says we believe the opposite,” the Republicans will rule the government.
